SSWC Week of Oct 15

Alrighty then sports fans, your fearless (shamefaced, slacking) leader has returned and is ready to get back in the swing of things. Sorry of the hiatus, I have nothing but my own laziness to blame.

This weeks assignment, convince me to try something odd.

  1. "My proposition might be considered odd, though most everyone has done it at one time or another, and though I am by no means the only one to do it on purpose."
"The next time it rains, go for a walk. Rain is not dreary if it's all around you. Gray is gentle, brown becomes rich, green washes out the dusty creases of your mind, and all the other colors deepen and glisten. You don't get much closer to nature than when you're soaked to the skin, and it can be worth welcoming in that far. There are as many moods to rain as there are to people; moods you might miss if you never meet it head on. If there's thunderstorm, (which I have yet to personally experience out-of-doors) I expect it would be rather thrilling, like riding a firetruck into action (which I have also yet to experience, for those who were wondering). Mizzle and slow rain, especially in cool weather, are soothing and invigorating all at once, and coming home damp to lamplight and a cup of tea is an instance of which every life should hold at least one. Sun showers, when the sky wants to have its cake and eat it, too, are perhaps the best. Take off your shoes, since you're already behaving like a hippie, and don't come in till you're drenched with dripping daylight." - Miss Leah B.
